This self is pure consciousness, not your ego, race, personality, or creed, but your essential nature. All inspiration, creativity, love, charity, and enlightenment arises from this state. <p>Breathing meditation is a means of changing the mind, encourages and develops concentration, clarity, and emotional positivity. <p>Our thoughts and beliefs colour our vision and perception of the world. They determine our actions or inactions. Thoughts affect feelings. Feelings affect behaviour. Behaviour produces results (or the lack of them). It all begins with our thoughts, since we have to accept a thought for it to become a belief.</p>
<p>It’s been said that whatever you believe becomes your reality. You do not believe what you see; rather you see what you already believe. For this reason, two people facing the same situation may interpret it differently, act according to their different beliefs and experience different outcomes.</p>
<p>Self-limiting beliefs act like brakes on our progress. They leave us acting forward, but believing backward. They have been described as a malicious thermostat; you can take all the action you want, and in the right direction too. But anytime you make progress, the thermostat pulls you back to conform to your inner negative programming.</p>
<p>Attempting to move forward when you have backward programming is like expecting a photocopy to be different from the original. You’ve got to work on the original copy first, change the blue print, modify the DNA.</p>
<p>Your thoughts and beliefs are your programming. You cannot move beyond them. To get out of the vicious cycle of acting forward but believing backward you’ve got to identify these malicious thermostats, and eliminate them, consciously and continuously. Sometimes it’s a lifelong battle, but one that you can win each time.</p>
<p>Limiting beliefs could come from the things people said to us and about us while we grew up. Now is the time to devastate these weeds. They could also come from listening to negative people, watching/listening to negative TV and radio programs, reading negative books and magazines, and repeatedly hearing negative song lyrics. Always be on the look-out for possible sources, not fearfully, but with the view to detect and devastate them.</p>

<p>The problem can appear when you are tightly focused on your desired outcome and either not achieving it or, perhaps, not achieving it fast enough. When you are only thinking about what you want to happen in the future your brain will create explanations as to why this hasn’t happened and isn’t happening.</p>
<p>In this scenario it’s easy to replay past failures, earlier misfortune and even to start wondering if your perceived personal weaknesses are an influencing factor. You may become envious of your competitors, you may even start making excuses and then you’re on a downward spiral and you could lose self confidence. This may impact upon not only your current project but future plans.</p>
<p>At times such as this you need to kill the destructive thought pattern by setting aside a little time to reflect upon your achievements and nurture your attitude of gratitude. Make a list of your earlier achievements, your proven skills and think about the advantages that you already enjoy in comparison with others less fortunate. This will rapidly boost your confidence and put you in the right frame of mind to achieve your goals.</p>

<p>We’ve all heard of the old proverb, “The Devil you know is better than the one you don’t”. This great fear of the unknown causes people not to take chances and to stay in situations where they’re not very happy. As soon as people think about change they start playing the “what if?” game.<br />

• What if I fail?</p>
<p>You tell yourself the “grass is greener” and bury any thoughts of changing your situation for the better. You think you should stay where you are, just in case. You don’t have a crystal ball to predict the future so you can’t tell for sure what the consequences of your actions will be.</p>
<p>You do know what you have now and you tell yourself that if you think about it, it’s really not that bad. Right? The fear of the unknown is what stops most people from ever making positive changes in their lives.</p>
<p>If you let it, your imagination can dream up a never ending supply of terrible things that could happen. But let’s think about it. You have the ability to imagine the absolute worst thing that could happen so that means you also have the skill to use your energy to imagine the absolute best thing that could happen. It’s a matter of focus.</p>
<p>Why do you waste so much time imagining the worst when there’s just as much of a chance of the best outcome happening? In Susan Jeffers book, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, she says that whatever option you choose will provide you with new opportunities and surprises that you may never have imagined happening.</p>

<p>You see, I&#8217;ve been asked many times for how to achieve success and weird enough, seems like nobody&#8217;s taking that advice seriously. Then I realized one thing &#8211; most people are ALREADY failing before they even got started!</p>
<p>The article I wrote below is slightly controversy compare to the normal goodie-type <a href="http://www.successtrace.com" target="_blank">personal improvement</a> advice because this is the TRUTH. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children. I want to tell you the truth straight to your face because I&#8217;ve been there and heard the garbage lies thrown everywhere.</p>
<p>Avoid these and you&#8217;ll automatically be on the right track (provided you want to be successful)&#8230;</p>
<p>1. Mixing With Losers<br />
It&#8217;s a guaranteed way to fail in life with this. Whatever you like to do, losers will just tell you it won&#8217;t work and after some time, you will also become a loser. High five, welcome to the losers&#8217; club. <em>Something about losers you should know:</em> they like to &#8216;recruit&#8217; new people and are very comfortable in their shoes. They don&#8217;t welcome Changes. So when you see someone with any of these two characteristics, you know what you should do.</p>
<p>2. Don&#8217;t Know What You Want<br />
The most common goal I hear all of the time is, &#8220;I want to be rich&#8221;. I mean it&#8217;s fine with that generic goal but the problem is, how rich do you want to be? Or how rich is rich? Put it this way &#8211; the methods used to make a million and $3,000 are different. No wonder some people couldn&#8217;t experience breakthroughs in life because they are playing small for big goals. If you want to make a million, you better put in that level of commitment, bucko.</p>
<p>3. You Want Everything<br />
It&#8217;s nice to have a lot of things but if you go chasing everything, you get nothing. Let me tell you why &#8211; you only have 24 hours a day and you&#8217;ve got to focus on your priorities. I know, I know, you can hire others and so on but the fact is, you&#8217;ve got to want &#8216;something&#8217; first to lead to another &#8216;something&#8217;, then to everything. Make sense?</p>
<p>4. Watching the &#8220;Secrets&#8221; Way Too Much<br />
I&#8217;m not here to criticize Law Of Attractions (LOA) and don&#8217;t want to receive hate emails. As a matter of fact, I do believe in it and have friends who appeared in the Secrets. But it&#8217;s a surefire way to fail if you keep on watching the &#8220;Secrets&#8221; and doing &#8216;attraction&#8217; by sitting down on your floor manifesting 3 hours a day. In my point of view, scientifically, Law of Attraction runs on the concept of &#8216;believing&#8217;. When you believe you can achieve your goal, you will take actions to actually achieve it but if you don&#8217;t understand this basic element and think LOA is some sort of miracle remedy, oh boy, you&#8217;re in for a big surprise for failure.</p>
<p>5. You Don&#8217;t Truly Know Why You Want Success<br />
Wanting everything is bad enough &#8211; but it gets even worse if you don&#8217;t even know the reason why you&#8217;re trying to achieve your goal. What&#8217;s the deal? Without a solid reason, a compelling reason, where are you going to find the motivation and encouragement for you to overcome obstacles? You think it&#8217;s going to be fun ride to success? Then you haven&#8217;t been traveling &#8211; it&#8217;s a rocky road, my friend. Most people failed to achieve their goals because they never complete the journey&#8211; they give up half way (or at the beginning) because they cannot see the worth of accomplishments.</p>
<p>6. You Don&#8217;t Remember Your Roots<br />
The thing I get most irritated about is people who achieved success and never felt gratitude towards those who have helped them. Is it very hard to say, &#8216;thank you&#8217;? The law of reciprocity is simple – you return favors to those who helped you in the past. And maybe, they&#8217;ll help you again in the future. Remember this- it takes more than just you to achieve success, so don&#8217;t be a jerk.</p>
<p>7. You Think You&#8217;re Smart<br />
The day you stop learning is the day you stop improving yourself. If you don&#8217;t want to fail in life, make you sure you stop acting as though you already know everything. The fact is, all successful people are people who continuously learn to be even more successful. They don&#8217;t stop. Let me put it in this perspective &#8211; you don&#8217;t know what you don&#8217;t know, you know?</p>
<p>8. You Listen To The Wrong People<br />
I watched this funny movie called, &#8220;He Is Just Not That Into You&#8221; and it just reaffirmed what I&#8217;m about to tell you. At the beginning of the movie, it shows a clip of a boy pushing a girl in the playground because he somehow doesn&#8217;t like her. He thinks she smells like dog pooh. She cried and asked her mum why did the boy do that to her. And her mum replied, &#8220;It&#8217;s because boys do that to girls when they like you.&#8221; Do yourself a favor, don&#8217;t get wrong advice. It&#8217;ll stick in your brain and lead you to make stupid interpretations in life.</p>
<p>9. You Think Short Term<br />
You&#8217;ll hear this happening often in many &#8216;successful&#8217; people&#8217;s stories – make a lot of money to lose it all. This probably because they became too comfortable and the other thing is, once you achieve success, you should ride on the wave when the momentum is there. When you think short term, you&#8217;re only going after the instant pleasure. You must learn to master &#8216;delay gratification&#8217; so that you can enjoy your today&#8217;s labor.</p>
<p>10. You&#8217;re Blinded With What Is Important In Life<br />
I believe there are only two things that are important in your life – control of time and experiencing happiness. Money, love, big cars, diamonds, etc are the things that contribute to these 2 benchmarks of successes. For instance, if you have money, you don&#8217;t need to work so that you can have more time to do the things you like. It&#8217;s not the money that you&#8217;re trying to get but what the money CAN DO FOR YOU. I know this topic is bigger than one sentence explanation but I guess you get the point. You&#8217;re a smart fella.</p>

<p>Study successful people and you&#8217;ll sure to discover one thing that many of them would have in common- they live by that words of &#8220;always do more than what is expected of you.&#8221;</p>
<p>It could be sleeping an hour less everyday to have more time to build your wealth or whatsoever.</p>
<p>Whether you are mowing people&#8217;s lawn or someone is mowing your lawn, when you are teaching a seminar or being a participant,  when sharing your knowledge or giving advice to others, always do or give more than what people expect. Then they will flock around you, lining up to meet you and support you in whatever thing that you want to do next.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re training to be a champion, don&#8217;t just train like an average player. Train more than you&#8217;re expected to train.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re building a multi-level marketing business, increase the numbers of prospects you would like to meet everyday. If it used to be 10, now you would have at least 12. By just increasing your effort 20%, you&#8217;ll now get 60 new prospects a month. Now, that&#8217;s what I called exponential growth.</p>
<p>Trying to court a girl? I&#8217;m not surprise that you could be &#8220;competing&#8221; with five other guys for the same girl. And you can only win if you&#8217;re giving more than all of them (if everyone&#8217;s equal). I&#8217;m not saying giving more money or buying stuff- give love, time or whatever that she appreciates.</p>
<p>Whenever you are interacting with people or in a relationship, treat extremely well.</p>
<p>Whatever is expected of you in that relationship, be it with your girlfriend, wife/husband, business partner or client or your friend, always do or give more than what is expected of you in that relationship because that is the secret of making it a success.</p>
<p>Don&#8217;t be mistaken that it you need to give a whole lot more; you have to do just a little bit more than the rest. That&#8217;s it.</p>
<p>To do this, it&#8217;s not difficult. But most people are just too lazy to put in the effort. I&#8217;m one of them but I&#8217;ll always keep reminding myself this- winner takes all. There is no second place, my friend. I would rather strive with the extra effort to get #1 because the pay off is many times greater than #2.</p>
<p>Do you remember who the second best basketball player is? Nope. You can remember Michael Jordan because he&#8217;s #1. In fact, as far as I know, there&#8217;s no such place as the &#8216;the second best basketball player&#8217;.</p>
<p>Who&#8217;s the second fastest runner in the world? Who knows. I just know the #1.</p>
<p>Others have called this &#8216;more than expected attitude&#8217; as &#8216;going for the extra mile&#8217;. Notice that they don&#8217;t say the extra 10 miles.</p>
<p>How come?</p>
<p>Because the average persons doesn&#8217;t bother to do more than what is expected of them and that&#8217;s the awful truth.</p>
<p>To most people, &#8220;always do more than what is expected of you&#8221; are mere words and they don&#8217;t put substance to it.</p>
<p>And guess what&#8230; successful people are never your average people.</p>
<p>To be generous and to treat others extremely well, you must come from the perspective of abundance thinking. Then only &#8220;always doing more than what is expected of you&#8221; will come easy and naturally.</p>
<p>So the next time you are with somebody, in a business negotiation, or just interacting with another person, ask how can I help you&#8230; without even expecting any return.</p>
<p>As the other saying goes, commonly heard in <a href="http://www.successandlife.com" target="_blank">personal improvement</a> &#8212; you have to give, in order to get. In fact, if you want to gather riches you have to be as generous as you can. Touch people&#8217;s lives profoundly in ways that they would never forget. Give it forward- help another and that person will help another. Always do more than what is expected of you. Do this and the reward will come in 10 folds or 100 folds when you are least expecting it.</p>
