There was very welcome news today. My mother called me to let me know that my cousin has finally found his son after ten years. Actually, his son found him!

Many years ago my cousin had a bitter divorce. The ex wife got custody of the child and he had to pay alimony. However, not long after the divorce, he lost his job and was not able to make alimony payments. As result, the ex wife refused to grant visiting rights.

The ex wife even refused to let her son see his grandmother (my cousin’s mother) when her health was deteriorating. This was quite painful to witness because my aunt had loved her grandson very much and had not seen him in years. It was her dying wish to see her grandson one more time before she crossed over.

Soon after my aunt passed away, my cousin’s ex-wife and her son moved to Japan. This was about five years ago. My cousin had not seen or even heard from either his ex-wife or son since.

My mother and I tried help locate my cousin’s son last year. My mother called the local radio station for assistance and asked friends if they had heard anything. I went to popular social sites in Japan and in America but no such luck.

A few days ago, my cousin went to Japan on a business trip, while there he suddenly got from his son. Initially, my cousin didn’t believe it but became elated when he realized he was talking to his son.

The amazing thing was his son was also searching for his father and actually hired a private investigator. Fortunately, my cousin was not hard to track since he created a successful multimedia business.

His son is in his early twenties with his own family, including a brand new son. (My cousin’s a grandpa!) And my cousin’s son currently resides in Nagoya. So my cousin had changed plans and is now on his way to Nagoya!

It’s a very joyous week!
